Luca Veste is an author who never fails to impress me, he always manages to bring something new to the table, and his latest standalone novel is no exception.
Sam Cooper is on a date when he gets a phone call asking him to return to his home town. His Father is dying and Sam is required to be at his bedside. Sam hesitates at first, he hasn't seen his Father in years, but believes he'll regret it if he doesn't go.
If only he knew what was waiting for him...
The death of Sam's Father, is the beginning of a very dangerous journey for Sam. His Father's death was caused by someone else, someone who believes that his Mother is still alive, and who will do anything to find her.
Sam's Mother and younger Brother were killed in a car accident when he was younger, something he's never forgiven himself for, although it most certainly wasn't his fault. She can't be alive, it's simply not possible.
